Rebecca Leigh has lived in both Los Angeles and New York City with years of experience in the film industry. Her writing has been described as “entirely fresh”, “compelling and real”, and “it’s not Sorkin, but it’ll do I guess.”
Rebecca has written numerous features, shorts, and episodics in many different genres. Her specialities are character and dialogue, with her banter called “incredible” by the Austin Film Festival. Her scripts, both produced and unproduced, have done well in multiple competitions. Some of her recent awards include Semifinalist in the Screencraft Comedy Festival, Outstanding Achievement Romantic Comedy Award at Indie Short Fest LA, and Best Short at the Phoenix Film Festival. She really really wishes she’d written What We Do in the Shadows, but didn’t.
She currently lives with her bearded husband, two ancient cats, and a dog who rather alarmingly resembles a werewolf. When she’s not writing she enjoys reading, eating Taco Bell, and being like, really into Shakespeare. “Never Give Up, Never Surrender!”
